CIO-Comm.
Inside the European IT Community
The Context
We live in an extraordinary era, in which the impact of technological and digital innovation in the manufacturing world is unprecedented. Companies are faced with challenges and opportunities that are more numerous, more demanding and constantly changing every day.
Having overcome the effects of the pandemic on the acceleration of digital transformation in the private sector as well as in public administration (with the shift to remote working and the adoption of digital services), the fascinating new technologies, especially those of artificial intelligence, require companies that want to remain competitive to redesign themselves, to move to a more evolved state in which they are capable of creating innovative capabilities and a culture of innovation.
ICT departments are naturally called upon now more than ever to play a central role in the company and are essential for the redefinition of strategies, business models, and processes. Driving business growth through ever-evolving technology, in a complex landscape dominated by regulatory changes and growing cybersecurity threats, poses challenges that must be seized adeptly and transformed into opportunities for growth and prosperity, combining technical and leadership skills with communication and relationship skills, including training, attracting and retaining talent.
In a climate of economic uncertainties and several ongoing geopolitical crises, this major transformation also affects European institutions. As they are being organised for the years ahead, a radical change in policies and strategies for competitiveness at the EU level is called for. There is talk of a new partnership among member states, a redefinition of our Union that is no less ambitious than what the founding fathers did 70 years ago with the first economic treaties.
The vision that the competitiveness of European companies concerns all member states of the Union is a shared vision, and meetings between sector representatives to define joint actions are multiplying.
In this context, CIO-Comm. was born to give voice to the players and leaders of the great digital transformation in Europe.
